Learn More →Watkins & McNeilly, PLLC is one of the oldest law firms in Nashville. We are dedicated to the cost-efficient, service-oriented practice of law with the highest standards of ethical responsibility. What distinguishes our firm is the personal attention we provide for each of our clients.
Since that time, the firm has expanded and prospered under the leadership of the late Dan E. McGugin, Sr., Lowe Watkins, Dan E. McGugin, Jr. and later W. Warner McNeilly, Jr. The firm is presently comprised of six attorneys dedicated to the cost-efficient, service-oriented practice of law with the highest standards of ethical responsibility.
The firm’s niche in the Nashville legal community is based upon providing high quality legal work at a more affordable cost to the client. In order to do so, the firm makes every effort to minimize its overhead costs and to avoid over-staffing of attorneys. Unlike larger law firms, our firm has few associates and paralegals on its payroll and we do not assign multiple attorneys to perform tasks which can be performed effectively by a single attorney. We value strong relationships with our clients and prioritize direct, face-to-face communication to address each client’s individual needs, concerns, and questions.

We keep the firm deliberately small. Fewer attorneys on a file means lower cost to you, faster answers, and a partner who knows your matter without being briefed on it first.
Talk to an AttorneyMost firms lean one way. Our two sections share the same file, so a deal is structured to survive a dispute and a dispute is argued by people who understand the deal.

Read More →We had a partner who violated our operating agreement in ways that threatened everything we’d built. Watkins & McNeilly understood the business reality immediately, not just the legal theory. They were direct about our options, aggressive when it counted, and never lost sight of what we were actually trying to protect. The settlement they negotiated let us move forward on our own terms. In Nashville, for any serious business dispute, Watkins & McNeilly is the firm you want at the table.
